News fresh breeze coming from the famous company Microsoft. To enhance the marketability and attract media users search, Microsoft is trying to establish cooperation with Mozilla, and will be offering a custom version of Firefox that will come with Microsoft’s Bing as the default search engine, the standard version comes with Google.

Firefox with Bing

The build, which is called Firefox with Bing, is available for users to download from a Microsoft-hosted website.

When Firefox 4 was released last year, it added Bing as one of the available options in the browser’s built-in search box. Google remained the default, but Bing became easily accessible to users who prefer Microsoft’s search engine. Microsoft and Mozilla also took the opportunity to establish a revenue-sharing agreement around the search integration.

Firefox with Bing - 2

The new “Firefox with Bing” browser sets Bing as the default search engine and comes with Bing configured as the start page. These changes are tied to the special version of the browser and won’t impact the current defaults in regular Firefox releases. Users can also optionally install the Bing Search for Firefox add-on to get the same features in a regular Firefox build.

Mozilla and Bing are pleased to make available Firefox with Bing, a customized version of Firefox that sets Bing as the default search engine in the search box and AwesomeBar and makes Bing.com the default home page. (Existing Firefox users can also make these changes by installing the Bing Search for Firefox Add-on).

Mozilla has previously released a number of similarly customized Firefox builds in collaboration with various partners. For example, they released a special version of Firefox with Twitter integration earlier this year. Mozilla has been expanding its relationships with commercial partners over the past year, leading to some unexpected tie-ins . The release of Firefox with Bing is merely the latest development. Of course we all hope this can all contribute and convenience for all of us.

Some critics say that social networks, although keeping us electronically connected, actually isolate us from the real world. While social networks can skyrocket us to popularity through faster accumulation of ‘cyber friends’ and speedier exchanges of ideas, opinions or just trivial accounts of our days, all the interactions take place in a cyber world—much different from the ‘real’ one.

Example Social Networking Models

Despite this criticism, it can not be denied that social networks not only bring us together but also keep us from drifting apart—and that, some would say, is much more important than differentiating the cyber world from the ‘real’ one.

Social networks allow us to make new friends and keep old ones no matter how geographically distant they had become. Rendering the phrase “out of sight, out of mind’ obsolete, social networks allow us to keep in touch with friends who’d moved out of town, in the same way that we could be reunited with ‘friends we’ve lost along the way’. As for those we don’t really care much about, well, we can always ignore them.

Social networks may even be justifiably described as ‘where strangers become acquaintances, acquaintances become friends and friends become lovers’—why not? As people in cyberspace are drawn to one another not so much on the basis of looks, social status, wealth or geographical proximity as on shared interests, values and beliefs, relationships forged through social networks can hardly be considered superficial.

Different people adapt different rules in their social network dealings. Some distinguish social network friends from ‘real’ world ones. Some keep their interactions ‘professional’ and goal-driven—for marketing, information getting and sharing, exchanging learning, etc. It is still amazing though, how you can get information from strangers in social networks and not from strangers you meet on the street.

Fortunately for those of you with Android OS smartphone owners. There’s always development undertaken by the developers. This time good news comes from Google, Google Maps that was exactly always been one of the top apps on the Android platform, with new features added regularly by Google. A new version has rolled out today that adds useful features that will be popular with both those in urban areas and those in rural spots.

Google Maps Offline

Just as information, Google Maps (formerly Google Local) is a web mapping service application and technology provided by Google, free (for non-commercial use), that powers many map-based services, including the Google Maps website, Google Ride Finder, Google Transit, and maps embedded on third-party websites via the Google Maps API.

It offers street maps, a route planner for traveling by foot, car, or public transport and an urban business locator for numerous countries around the world. Google Maps satellite images are not updated in real time, they are several months or years old.

Google Maps uses a close variant of the Mercator projection, so it cannot show areas around the poles. A related product is Google Earth, a stand-alone program which offers more globe-viewing features, including showing polar areas.

Now, Google anyway has started reportedly been storing maps as vectors, not as massive images, so whenever it chooses to go offline, it will have no trouble due to size of the stored data.

To activate the feature, you’ll first have to visit the Labs section of the Maps application, which you can access using the Menu button. Enable the Download Map Area option, and from then on when you browse to a Place page and hit the ‘More’ button, you’ll see an option to locally store a map of the surrounding area.

Google Maps Offline - 2

And it’s a big surrounding area, Google will download local copies of the map tiles within a 10 mile radius of that venue. The vector based tiles use much less data (around 1/100th), which means they are quicker to download and can be stored locally without using too much storage space. Google Maps for Android has actually been caching mapping data automatically for some time now the difference this “download maps” feature brings is that it lets users explicitly choose which areas to store locally.

Since the turn by turn navigation of Ovi Maps is coming on Windows Phone 7, Google Maps needs to pull something out of its hat to compete. Google Maps has been a unique selling proposition for Android platform, which may not be used by the users on a daily basis, but feels great to have when they are in a new place.

You can get the new Google Maps in the Android Market. Congratulations to feel easy with one touch. Now the world is in your grasp.

Many things we can do with Android. Its application is extremely varied, and the ability to penetrate the boundary that we consider impossible. One of the things we really want is to be controlling a PC remotely from our smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy Gio

With technological advances such as today, it is not impossible. I will only take three types of Android VNC (virtual network computing) utilities and you can later choose which you think would best balance of usability and value. I’ve tried my share of free and paid apps that let me control my home or work PC from my laptop or smartphone. Remote desktop control, while not something I use every day, has become an important part of my work life.

I’ve tried a few smartphone VNC apps, but all of them did a woefully inadequate job of controlling my desktop computer. The problem is clear: Smartphone screens are too small to be useful for navigating around and controlling a desktop screen. Most of the apps I’ve used do work as promised; but the small convenience that these apps offer hardly justifies all of the swiping back and forth, zooming in and out, and repeated screen tapping required to get a desired action to take effect on the remote system. Ultimately the smartphone is just a bad device for controlling bigger devices (or at least, for controlling their desktop interfaces). Smartphone that I use is Samsung Galaxy Gio, cheap but I love it.

I found three top-rated VNC remote desktop apps for Android: LogMeIn Ignition ($30), PhoneMyPC ($10), and Wyse PocketCloud Pro ($15). Here are the results of my experiment with using the app:

LogMeIn Ignition

The priciest app in my remote desktop roundup is LogMeIn Ignition, which you can buy from the Android Market for $30. Ignition lets you control Windows PCs and Macs using either the paid LogMeIn Pro app or LogMeIn Free on your desktop machine.

LogMeiN

Of the apps in this roundup, LogMeIn Ignition offers the clearest interface for Android devices, with large, obvious buttons across the bottom of the screen that permit simple, trouble-free control. It’s also one of the easier apps to configure on the host side of the relationship: You simply sign up, download the app, and log in with your LogMeIn account credentials to get going. As long as the PC is running, LogMeIn Ignition can find it over an Internet or LAN connection, wake it from sleep if needed, and drive it remotely.

It’s worth noting, though, that LogMeIn costs twice as much as the next-most-expensive app I looked at, Wyse PocketCloud Pro, which has more-robust business-grade encryption and sound support.

PhoneMyPC

This fairly simple remote-control app from an obscure Android developer called SoftwareForMe.com garnered enough high marks from users in the Android Market to justify my taking a closer look. Still technically a beta product, PhoneMyPC is a tablet-optimized app that lets you control PCs running Windows XP or later.

PhoneMyPC

PhoneMyPC offers a few distinctive features that other apps leave out, such as Webcam Preview, which lets you look through your PC’s attached Webcam. This cool bonus feature opens up a broader range of reasons to give remote-control software a try: You can check in on your office or home while you’re traveling, spy on your pets, spy on your babysitter, or spy on whoever is within view of your PC’s Webcam. The point is, you can spy with it, and that’s pretty awesome.

Of the three apps I tried, however, PhoneMyPC performed the most sluggishly over a remote connection, delivering chunky images and slow refreshes. So while this app is definitely interesting, I’m not convinced that it’s as practical as the other two for getting actual work done.

Wyse PocketCloud Pro (Best Choice)

The only app in this little roundup designed specifically for business use, Wyse PocketCloud Pro is easily the most robust of the three. It supports automatic discovery through VNC and Microsoft’s RDP7 protocol, it acts as a VMware viewer, and it can control Windows PCs and Macs.

Wyse pocketCloud pro

The easiest way to use Wyse is to log in with a Gmail account from both the mobile app and the desktop host. In my tests, this unfailingly made my Windows and Mac hosts immediately discoverable over both Wi-Fi and mobile connections, earning PocketCloud the distinction of being by far the simplest of the three apps to configure.

The PocketCloud interface is built around a central navigation wheel that expands when you tap it to provide an array of control options. I found it unintuitive initially, but I grew to prefer it over the other apps once I got the hang of it, since it puts the navigation tools you need right in the center of the display, which is where you’re most likely to need them.

PocketCloud is also the fastest of the apps I tested, delivering clear images of the remote screen with relatively little lag and few distracting visual artifacts, even over a 3G connection. Pinch-zooming works surprisingly smoothly in PocketCloud. And if you do experience connection problems that slow the app’s performance, you can easily turn off elements such as the screen wallpaper to speed things up again.

Overall, Wyse PocketCloud Pro is the clear leader among these three Android VNC apps. It’s modestly priced at $15, performs well over mobile connections, supports multiple connections, and features business-grade TLS encryption that goes beyond the capabilities of its competitors. It also comes in a free version that gives you most of the same features (minus sound support, multiple-connection support, and some of the high-end encryption features).

I hope this post can be useful for you, hopefully to help you find alternatives Android VNC (virtual network computing) is the best utilities for your Android. But like the beginning was, indeed smartphone screens are too small to be useful for navigating around and controlling a desktop screen. All come back to you.

The original RSS (RDF Site Summary RSS 0.9) was developed by Dan Libby for Netscape. After a couple of months, they produced a simpler and easier-to-use version called Rich Site Summary or RSS 0.91. But they later lost interest, leaving it without an owner.

As more and more users were using RSS, Winer made an adapted version of RSS 0.91 for User land, claiming it as his own. Later in 2005, Microsoft developed Really Simple Syndication in relation to its Simple Sharing Extensions.

What is RSS? RSS is a XML file format for syndicating content and news in the web. It is usually used by websites that constantly need to update their content regularly such as news websites (CNN, BBC and Reuters) and weblogs. Since it essentially gives one’s webpage more traffic, it is now more widely used in marketing, web publications and virus reports. Today, large and small websites alike are usually RSS-enabled.

For example, you’re an avid fan of baseball and you want to share something recent about one of the players. Other than content, you can also attach multimedia files, like videos or pictures. By using RSS feeds, other Internet users subscribed to RSS-enabled sites can read your headline for free. They can also track for changes and updates using news aggregators, which will be discussed later on.

How does RSS work? To be able to use RSS, you first have to download a software (content management system), by which XML format can be read. The title and, excerpt of the article, and a link to the full article are shown. Other than just text, you can also insert multimedia files in RSS feeds like pictures, videos, mp3s and others. Broadcatching, picturecasting, photocasting, and podcasting are some features you can incorporate into your feed, but will not be discussed in this article.

For users to access a RSS feed, they need to use an aggregator or a feed reader. An aggregator searches for updates on RSS-enabled webpages then displays it. It can either be a standalone program or a web browser extension, depending on your operating system. Search engines for web content broadcasted over RSS feed are also available such as Plazoo and Feedster.

How can I make an RSS feed? It is definitely easier to make an RSS feed if you know HTML. If not, you could sign up for a blog (there are hundreds out there), some of which automatically creates RSS. If you’re using a personal webpage building system, you need to understand more about RSS. Making an RSS feed from scratch is relatively easy.

A RSS feed should always contain an item, whichever version of RSS you might use. If you wrote about a recent event in your city or a book review, the contents of this article can form an item. An item is essentially composed of three things: a title, its description, and link (where they can find your webpage). In choosing a title and description, use something that will describe the web content best. Although it will be easier for you, it doesn’t follow that the title tag of your webpage and the item title are the same.

An RSS feed that contains multiple tags looks like this:

< ?xml version="1.0"?>
< rss version="2.0">
< channel>
< item>
< title>Anne Rices Belinda: A Book Review< /title>
< description> If you haven't read any Anne Rice books yet, you will be greeted with shocking romantic relationships forming between unlikely characters < /description>
< link> http://allaboutbookreviews.com/belinda < /link>
< /item>

< title>Harry Potter IV: Darker with More Deaths< /title>
< description> The recently released Harry Potter installation has proved dark for its younger readers
< link> http://allaboutbookreviews.com/harrypotterandthehalfbloodprince < /link>
< /item>< /channel>
< /rss>

Now, if you’re still having a hard time understanding these tags, look for HTML tags tutorial to further grasp the concept. Have fun!

If it is associated with design, then we will surely remember the Adobe Photoshop. As a beginner designer, I often look for resources in PSD resources which can be downloaded so I can modify them just like what I need. Many websites provide free designs but unfortunately they are not completely for free, because they intend to sell the existing designs.Yes, I’m not complaining about it, because sometimes people do their business by selling their designs on the internet. However, there are some websites that provide a full design sources that can be downloaded for free and one of them is freepsdcorner.com.

Free PSD Corner

This website is still relatively new, as all we can see there are still a few Free PSD Design that already distributed by the owner of this website. I personally think this is a good start and we should follow his site, because I think he will share more designs and hopefully will be given totally free.

I hope FreePSDCorner will share not only design products, but also provides some good tips and tricks of Adobe Photoshop technique or some design tips for beginner like me.
