Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400

Currently, Intel’s flagship processor for the desktop is the Core i7. For the mainstream, Intel still offers a Core 2 series which has been using 45 nm production processes. Intel Core 2 has a variant of dual-core and quad core. One quad-core variant is the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 is a quad-core processor. The processor is a combination of dual core on 1 system. While the production process itself has been using the Intel 45 nm production. This processor has a working frequency of 266 MHz with a FSB of 333 MHz.

L2 cache 4MB
Processor is intended as one of Intel’s quad-core variant of the more affordable has L2 cache 4MB (2X2MB). For L1 cache, this processor has a 4 x 32 KB for data, and 4X32 KB for instructions. Variants are more dedicated to this performance class has L2 cache of 12 MB.

SSE4.1
With 45 nm, Intel added a number of improvements to the Core 2. One of them is 47-containing SSE4.1 instructions from instruction 54 contained in SSE4. The rest of the SSE4 instructions in SSE4.2 have owned Intel’s flagship processor for the desktop, Core i7. Applications that already support SSE4.1 get extra energy in carrying out certain jobs.
