All in One SEO Pack: A Review

On my last project, I use All in One SEO Pack (AOSP) plugin (it is no longer maintained) to ease my client on changing their meta tag instead of editing the template directly. I ever used this plugin before but never take a look deeply in meta tag generated.

When I realize that my client’s website are not indexed by Google for almost two weeks, I started to find what caused the problem, because the web stat said that Google robots visited the web. In the end I realize that the problem is caused by the default page for my web hosting. I look at the HTML code and notice that sometime AOSP create meta tag description without any value in it. :O

Even if it created a description, it was not reflecting the content because it only took for some words from the first paragraph. Therefore I am planning to do a hard coded meta tag in the template tag, while looking for another alternative for SEO plugin for WordPress.

If you folks want to share your experience using any kind of SEO plugin, please share it with us here.

  1. imho,
the best seo is your website content. period.
i have other website without any keyword/description meta tag and they still get indexed. that is certaintly not the problem.

could be google blacklist your client’s web for some reason??

    1. its the best seo pack i ever used for my website i have 10 blogs and i used that for them got very god result’s so far in search engines ranking my pages crawl faster then before 🙂

  2. @Denny Halim,

I don’t think that client’s website is blacklisted by Google. I finally came with my conclusion that the problem is caused by the default homepage created by web hosting service.

  3. Interesting. I’m finding that page titles generated by AOSP (over-riding the actual page titles) aren’t showing up… currently AT ALL – but it’s less than two weeks since I made changes.

By contrast, posts on my site (which I never alter with AOSP hit the top of Google within minutes).

Right now, I’m considering dumping AOSP. The only benefit it has given me is the ‘ability’ to have a 1 word title on the page and a 10 word description in the browser bar, but if that’s not SE visible, what actual benefit is it anyway?

TBH – I’m no geek, but I didn’t ‘get’ AOSP from the start. No explanations, no support.

  4. My guess is that Social Ecosystem Optimization(tm) will become a new discipline where you optimize so that brands make influencers like them and make people who like them more influential ($ may make this task interesting as people will try to abuse it). oops looks like the acronym is also SEO.

  5. mantap bener, gue musti buka primbon dulu ujug2 nya. hufff.. mas tadi pagi saya lupa makan keju, jadi pabaliuet bcanya jg. khekekhe…

  6. Definitely a must have plugin for WP, there must be millions of blogs using All in one SEO pack! I wouldn’t run a blog without this plugin. There are other versions produced by other developers, but have never installed as AIOSE does everything I need 😀

  7. One of the best plugins for wordpress by far, I have it installed on all of my blogs / websites – the best feature for me is being able to label menu links differently to the actual titles and of course being able to put in descriptions that by default, WP won’t allow you to do! Just goes to show, pretty much anything can be done with WordPress.

  8. Hi, Kevin Stacey here..

First off, this post is extremely thorough! I don’t see too many bloggers going into detail like you have…that’s the mark of a blogger who knows their SEO plugin. For optimization, free plugins like All in One SEO Pack are really great as it lays down the basic SEO foundation for a WordPress site, but every blog is different and nothing works best for everyone.

I always suggest looking at a side-by-side comparison of the best seo plugins for WordPress in order to make an informed decision of what the best plugin is for that blogger and their website’s specific needs.

Here’s my most recent write-up on the subject:

Great article btw…I’ll be referencing this post on my main blog.
