Lte format was first proposed by NTT DoCoMo of Japan and has been adopted as an international standard. Lte Service was first opened by Telia Sonera company in stockholm and oslo on 14th december 2009. Which is followed by the United States and Japan in 2010. Lte network that first release is expected to be deployed globally over the next year as a natural evolution of several 2G and 3G systems, including global system for mobile communications (GSM) and universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) (3GPP and 3GPP2).
Lte is a standard for wireless data communication technology and an evolution of the GSM / UMTS standard. The purpose of the Lte is to increase the capacity and speed of wireless data networks using the techniques DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and modulation that was developed at the beginning of the new millennium. Wireless interface system is not compatible with 2G and 3G so it should be operated on a separate wireless spectrum. As a high-tech, Lte able to download at speeds up to 300 Mbps and 75 Mbps upload, Lte support bandwicth measurable operators, and supports frequency division duplexing (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD).
Lte network architecture is flat IP-based network architectures that called Evolved Packet Core (EPC), which is designed to replace the GPRS core network and supports a smooth exchange of voice and data in comparison with the first network technologies exist such as GSM, UMTS and CDMA 2000. Some of the advantages of Lte include:
- Download rate up to 299.6 Mbit / s and upload rate of up to 75.4 Mbit / s depending on the category of user equipment.
- Increased support for mobility, for example, support for mobile terminals up to 350 km / h or 500 km / h depending on the frequency band.
- Support for all frequency bands currently used by the IMT system by ITU-R.
- In cities and urban areas, a higher frequency band (such as 2.6 GHz in the European Union) is used to support high speed mobile broadband.
- Support for Multicast Broadcast Single Frequency Network feature can deliver services such as mobile TV using Lte infrastructure, and is a competitor for DVB-H service-based broadcast TV.
